The Messerschmitt BF. 109E-3 was one of the most famous airplanes in service with the Luftwaffe, and used primarily as a fighter and high altitude interceptor. It was one of the first truly modern fighters, featuring an all-metal fuselage construction, closed canopy, retractable landing gear, and a liquid-cooled, inverted aero engine. The Bf. 109, in different versions, was first used during the Spanish Civil War and was still in service at the dawn of the jet age, at the end of World War II, when it was still the backbone of the Luftwaffe's fighter force.

On face value this appears to be just a re-issue of what Nexus games once offered but no ... Look closer. With options available different to the Starter Pack Me Bf 109E-3 unit this aircraft comes equipped with a bomb on the underside ready for action in the colours of what appears to be the publicised unit ... With some bonus markings included from a second unit.
In all there are around five to seven different options available although the detailing leaflet enclosed only appears to give the customer details of three potential options.
Recommended by a Wings of Glory WW2 player since February 2015 who is also a keen miniatures collector - especially for this and WW1. |
